For Withdrawal:
  Subscriber can send: STOP DND to 1909

For Registration/ Withdrawal, no further information is required through this method as mobile Number of subscriber is treated as identification. A Docket No will be allocated to subscriber through a return message.

BULK SMS Complaint

If you receive any Bulk SMS / Promotional SMS even after registering with the National Do Not Call Registry (now NCCP Registry or NCPR), you can easily register a complaint by send an SMS.

For complaint through SMS, you have to send an SMS "COMP TEL NO XXXXXXXXXX;dd/mm/yy;hh:mm; short description of Unsolicited Commercial Communication" to 1909.

Example 1: If you receive an SMS as shown below:

To send a complaint through SMS of the above unsolicited (unwanted) Bulk SMS, forward the above in the following manner, limiting it to 160 characters:

COMP TEL NO +919876543210;20/05/12;22:19;Bigg Builder launches housing scheme in Sec-99, in your city, 1 KM from highway. Flats starting @50, SMS BGB to 12345

Send an SMS as shown above to 1909.

Keep in mind that the complaint must be sent/registered within 3 days of receiving the bulk sms.

Mobile Number Portability (MNP)

You can now switch / move your mobile number to another mobile company (cellphone provider) within your city / circle.

Cost (charges): You will have to pay just Rs.19 and your existing mobile number will be activated on the new mobile company that you want to shift to.

Process: Send an SMS in the following format to 1900:

Example: If your mobile number is 9876543210, the SMS will be

PORT 9876543210

Send an SMS as shown above to 1900.

You will receive an SMS reply from 1901 with a unique code and date.

You then have to submit your identity proof, address proof, and photograph with the code to the service provider you want, by the date given to you.

In the next seven days, the master clearing house will check if you have any outstanding dues and then process your request. Your new service will then start on your old number.

NOTE 1: You cannot change the mobile company (service provider) again for the next three months. If you want to move to another mobile services provider again, you can do so after a minimum of three months with the current mobile company.

NOTE 2: You cannot transfer your number to another city / circle. For example. if your number is from Delhi, you cannot transfer it to Mumbai (Bombay).
